This is the #1 sequential cache of Mui Ne, a well-known village in
the area of Phan Thiet, located about 200 km north east (a 4-hour
drive) from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) in Vietnam.
From Mui Ne to the Dunes, you can go through with a view of
tropical coastlines by 30-minute jeep ride. For safety measure,
you'd better be going along with a local guide, since the dunes are
almost like a huge desert, and make sure you bring a hat, a lot of
water, and sunscreen. At dawn as well as nightfall, you are amazed
by its surreal surroundings; Sahara-like panoramic scenery with 2
reserves and small beautiful lakes, all of which sometimes referred
to as "Lotus Lake." Even kids can enjoy the dunes by sledding down
with a plastic board that local kids carry. Don't forget to pay for
the rent.
In the cache box, I put a Travel Bug Dog Tag which my friend
gave me. It has traveled from the USA, Japan, and now in the
Eurasian Continent, sitting and awaiting your arrival to be headed
west to the theme park Lego Land, Germany. Hoping it to be found
and kept on going toward the final destination. Enjoy the
mysterious nature and have fun!
Small note on cache maintenance: I am here twice
a year, also have a local "cache guardian" who will assist.
