[PT] Esta cache tem como
principal objectivo apresentar mais um belo miradouro natural da
Serra da Estrela.
Encontra-se num parque eólico perto
de uma das principais estradas para a travessia da Serra da
Estrela, esta a Sul. Esta travessia tem vido a perder utilização,
principalmente após a conclusão da A23 que liga a Covilhã à Guarda,
pelo que, embora sejam feitos mais quilómetros, tem vindo a crescer
o número de adeptos da travessia Norte. No entanto, a estrada foi
recentemente repavimentada pelo que, embora as curvas continuem
presentes, o percurso não é tão tortuoso como antes da
requalificação.
As Pedras Lavradas encontram-se no
ponto mais alto desta travessia da Serra da Estrela. Em dias de céu
limpo, tem-se uma óptima vista para os 4 pontos cardeais, sendo
possível avistar, a Norte, a Torre; a Sul, as Minas da Panasqueira;
a Oeste, Oliveira do Hospital nos limites do Distrito de Coimbra
(terra dos owners desta cache); e a Este a zona da Covilhã e
Fundão.
[EN] The main purpose of this
cache is to show another natural viewpoint of Serra da
Estrela.
It's near a main road used to cross
Serra da Estrela, this one located in the South side. This crossing
has been losing use, especially after the construction of the
higway A23 linking Covilhã to Guarda, but although this crossing is
longer, has increased the number of fans crossing Serra da Estrela
trough the North. However, the road was recently rebuilt so,
although the curves are still present, the route is not as tortuous
as before.
The Pedras Lavradas are at the
highest point of this crossing of Serra da Estrela. On days with
clear sky, it´s a great sight to the 4 cardinal points: in the
north, the Torre (highest point of continental Portugal; in the
South, the Mines of Panasqueira; in the West, Oliveira do Hospital
within the limits of Coimbra’s district (land of the owners
of this cache); and in the East the area of Covilhã and
Fundão.
