A short hike through the Hemlock Hills of Ridgefield CT
So we noticed two new trails. Follow the new fluorescent green/yellow trail from the parking area to find this cache. Beautiful stroll though the woods. It can be done in a nice 1.5 mile loop (yellow to end, then left on woods road, then left on orange back to the car) or a shorter there-and-back-again approach.
30 Cal ammo box
This cache was filled by the girls of the Ridgebury Elementary School Girl Scout Troop 264 as part of their 5th grade sessions to fulfill requirements for their "Lets Go Geo" badge. Now they are off to 6th grade.

UPDATE 10/23/08
HUNTING:
Hemlock Hills and Pine Mountain Open Spaces are closed to the public for firearms hunting from Nov 19 through Dec 23, 2008, except during the Thanksgiving weekend. The town will probably hold such a hunting season again in 2009. .
Bow hunting is permitted in adjoining Bennett's Pond State Park from Sept 15, 2008, through Jan 31, 2009. During this time the park is not closed to the public, but hikers are advised to wear bright colors.
