Answering YES to any (or all) of these questions qualifies you for the newest Challenge cache:
THE OHIO HISTORY CHALLENGE
There are currently 42 active caches placed from January 23, 2001 to January 19, 2002, the first year in which geocaches were placed in Ohio. Finding these will take you to nearly every corner of our beautiful State and will surely create a few memories along the way. Hiders count as finders, so if you have hidden one or more of these caches, the less you have to find. Only those who qualify can post finds for this cache, even if you find it with someone who does qualify. If you are up for the challenge, here's how it works:
1. Make a Bookmark list to start saving the caches as you go, or just to have for your own reference. If you are not a premium member (able to use the bookmark feature), simply keep track of the caches you are getting, and email me those details when you finish. You also might want to think about become a premium member and taking advantage of the benefits.
2. Find all 42 'historical' geocaches ("see bookmark list")
3. Post a note to the page or email me to verify the completed cache finds.
4. After hearing that you are cleared and all caches have been found, visit the final cache (2.0/2.0) @ Keehner Park, a green ammo can at the listed coordinates, sign the log and claim your smiley for completing the Ohio History Challenge!
Note: If you are the owner (or adopter) of one of these historical caches, thank you for keeping our history alive and that's one less you will have to find to complete the challenge!
To level the playing field for experienced and new cachers, the FTF prize will be handled as follows: Anyone completing the Ohio History Challenge within 1 year from the publish date will be eligible for the FTF grand prize drawing. However, the ammo box has been filled to the top with swag. Original contents are: 1 set of unused travel bug tags, a hair tie, a new mini maglite, a pair of leather palm gloves, a new Ohio State cap, an emergency poncho, a plastic carabiner, and a couple of micro containers. Since there is a nice blend of cheaper and nicer items in the container, ONLY TRADE FOR EQUAL OR GREATER VALUE. To find this cache is quite an accomplishment, and I'd like for anyone who does so to have a nice variety of items in the box to choose from (that means you coming prepared with nice swag if planning on trading out). If you don't have something worth trading...don't.
ALSO NOTE! If any of these caches go archived, I will remove it from the list of required caches to find. If the number of caches archived makes this list less than 20 caches, this challenge will become archived itself.
