Geocache Description:

An easy urban cache in the town of Naxos near the Town hall. And if you wonder what is the strange statue in front of the Town-hall here is the answer. It is a copy of the famous Sphinx of Naxos that is in the Museum of Delphi.
The Sphinx of Naxos, carved about 560 BC, stood atop an Ionic column 33 feet tall. She faced the adytum, the hidden and forbidden inner sanctum of Apollo's temple where the Pythoness, Apollo's priestess, chanelled his oracular replies. It was erected by the citizens of the island of Naxos given her unsmiling "Severe" style. The original is made from marble of Naxos with height, over 6 feet(2.2 m), and weight, just under 2 tons.
The cache is a film canister with a log book a stashnote and a small pencil, but have yours just in case. The area of the cache is showing by a web camera in the site of Municipality of Naxos
