Geocache Description:

Another of Toronto's hidden treasures. The cache is located in a wooded area just off of a hiking trail in the North part of the city.

This cache was placed to help teach my Grade 4 class how latitude and longitude can be used to locate places and / or objects. I know the students will be excited to see who visits the site.

The cache container is a white 4 litre ice cream container. There is a logbook where people can write down what they take and leave. There is also a single use camera. Please take a picture of yourself and leave the camera. Once the film is finished, we'll process the pictures and post them here. The cache also contains the following goodies:

  • a magnifying glass
  • trillium pin
  • a pin from the former East York Board of Education
  • a Canada Flag pin
  • a chemical periodic table
  • notecards from Shaughnessy P.S.
  • a French pin
  • a protractor
  • assorted stickers
  • a pair of AA batteries
  • a few well wrapped dog biscuits
The cache area seems to be frequented by some "daredevil" bike riders. Lots of jumps created out of fallen logs. The cache container has been well covered. Please remember to recover the container when you are done.
