St Andrews is an architecturally significant stone church housing one of Brisbane's premier and most historic pipe organs that is currently undergoing a major restoration. The 1884 JW Walker organ has been a major part of the Brisbane community for over 120 years, however in 1970 a massive expansion using electric actions instead of the original mechanical action have made the organ increasingly difficult and expensive to maintain. The organ is now being restored it to its original configuration, which will ensure the reliability and musicality of the instrument for generations to come.
