A short, but steep climb along Offa's Dyke Path to some stunning views.
On a sunny day I can just sit in the long grass and admire this view for ages. The River Wye is nestled in a valley of trees, with the wonderful old railway bridge straddling it. A few houses dot the hillside and the view carries on to Monmouth and beyond to the Black Mountains.
But I can't come up here through Highbury Terrace without thinking of my colleague, friend and Arsenal fan who was so proud to be a forester.
This cache is dedicated to the memory of Nigel Williams. 16/6/1968 - 28/01/2004.
Pretty much the exact spot where the cache is has been used for a spectacular view of the Wye on Rivers with Griff Rhys Jones - 9/8/2009 |
