This cache is placed close to Wickham Knight Bridge, which crosses the Kennet
and Avon canal, near the village of Woolhampton. The cache
may be approached directly from Woolhampton off of the A4 - there
is a layby on either side of the road at the start of the
footpath. Alternatively, if you would like a pleasant walk
beside the canal, there is limited parking on a grass verge at the
entrance to a field off the A340 from Aldermaston Wharf to
Aldermaston village (being careful not to obstruct the gate) or
from the other end, park up at The Rowbarge Inn. This cache
replaces Woolhampton Walkover (GCVWDJ) which was
muggled.
Important: If you use the footpath leading
from the A4, you will need to cross the railway track. Please pay
attention to the safety notices and take care.
You are looking for a small
clip lock box which contains a logbook, pencil, and items for
trading. Please make sure the cache is covered over when you rehide
it, as it is quite close to the footpath.
