Geocache Description:

Fort Victoria Country Park is near Yarmouth. It is an historic coastal fort with a peaceful coastal and woodland area beyond.

There is plenty of free parking at Fort Victoria, and other attractions. There are toilets, plus a café which is open in the summer.

The cache is very easily accessible any time of the year. There's a fantastic view from on top of the fort, so bring your binoculars! If you come as the sun is going down you'll get a very fine view across the Western Solent.

The woodland walk can be accessed from the west, and forms part of the IW Coastal Path. The beach is not accessible at high tide, and is not suitable for swimming. Dogs are permitted on the beach all year around.

Cachers have noted that this cache is hard to open. We've tried to fix that but frankly this isn't likely to change, it's just the way it is. Our tips - pull it, don't twist it, and if you can't open it, a photo counts as evidence of your find.

Part of the Isle of Wight Geocaching Project.
Check our website for a picture of the cache container and a list of all our caches. Can you find them all?

Make a longer walk of it by starting at Yarmouth Common and walking west along the coast. Or a great circular walk taking in our other cache at Afton Marsh too.
