Geocache Description:

This cache meets the guidelines for Minnesota State Forests.

The sandhills hornet lives in sandy areas. It is black, with thick yellow stripes that run across its body, which grows to be not quite an inch long. The female collects small pieces of wood to build nests, which hang from branches and roofs. Be careful! If the nest is disturbed, you will get stung by a swarm of sandhills hornets.
