Der Erfurter Dom (früher auch Marienkirche oder Propsteikirche Beatae Mariae Virginis genannt) ist der wichtigste und älteste Kirchenbau in Erfurt.
Er diente nur kurze Zeit in der Mitte des 8. Jahrhunderts als Bischofssitz und war das gesamte Mittelalter über bis in das frühe 19. Jahrhundert hinein Sitz des Kollegiatstifts St. Marien.
Seit 1994 ist er wieder Kathedrale des neugeschaffenen Bistums Erfurt und Sitz des Domkapitels.
Besondere Anziehungspunkte sind die großen Glasfenster und das Glockenspiel mit der Maria Gloriosa.
Mit ihr als größte mittelalterliche Glocke der Welt stand die Glockengießerkunst auf ihrem absoluten Höhepunkt. Ihr Meister war Gerhard van Wou.
Die St. Severikirche ist ein Kirchenbau der Katholischen Kirche in Erfurt.
Sie steht auf dem Domberg unmittelbar neben dem Erfurter Dom.
Als einzigartiges architektonisches Ensemble bilden sie gemeinsam das Wahrzeichen der Stadt.
Aufgrund ihrer ungewöhnlichen Bauform, die die spätgotischen Hallenkirchen vorwegzunehmen scheint, gehört die Severikirche zu den bedeutendsten gotischen Bauten in Deutschland.
Der Erfurter Dom war vom 23.09. - 24.09.2011 eine offizielle Station des Besuches von Papst Benedikt XVI..
Diese wunderbaren Bauwerke haben schon lange einen eigenen Cache verdient. Wir haben etwas überlegt, wie wir dies anstellen können, da ja im unmittelbaren Umfeld schon einige Caches liegen, deren Final aber leider gar nix damit zutun haben. Nun haben wir es endlich verwirklicht.
Vielleicht könnt Ihr auch ein Erinnerungsfoto von Euch vor dem Dom schießen und es mit in den Log einstellen. (optional)

Peile von den Startkoordinaten 235 m in Richtung 210°.

Notiere Dir diese nach folgendem Muster:

Ihr müßt für den Cache kein Gebäude betreten. Wir empfehlen jedoch auch eine Besichtigung.
Achtet bitte auf Muggels, die sich hier zahlreich aufhalten.
Trotzdem dürfte das Finden des Caches ohne Probleme möglich sein.

The Erfurter Dom - cathedral (in former times also Marienkirche or curch Beatae Mariae Virginis mentioned) is the most important and oldest building of churches in Erfurt.
It served only short time in the center of the 8th century as Bishop seat and was all Middle Ages over into early 19. Century inside seat of the Kollegiatstift St. Marien. Since 1994 it is again cathedral of the again-creative diocese
Erfurt and seat of the cathedral chapter.
Special points of attraction are the large windows and the bell play with Maria Gloriosa. With it as the largest medieval bell of the world the bell caster art stood on their absolute high point. Their master was Gerhard van Wou.
The St. Severikirche is a building of churches of the catholic church in Erfurt. It stands on the cathedral mountain directly beside the Erfurter cathedral. As a singular architectural ensemble they form the landmark of the city together. Due to its unusual design, those the late gothic resounding churches to anticipate, belongs the Severikirche seems to the most important
gothic buildings in Germany.
The Erfurt Cathedral was from 09/23/11-09/24/11 a official station of the visit of Pope Benedict XVI ..
These marvelous buildings earned for a long time own cache. We considered something, how we can employ this, since in the direct surrounding field already some caches lie, whose final however unfortunately does not add nothing at all thereby has. Now we have it finally realises.

The range cannot be entered always.
