The cache is placed in a village named Tsagarada. It is 55
kilometers away from Volos city and it is one of the most renowned
destinations in Greece. It is built at an altitude of
450m.
The well preserved village of Tsagarada stretches over 5 kilometres along the main road and the village consists of four smaller settlements. Their names have been taken by the churches, located at the central squares: St Taxiarches (the elder settlement), St Paraskevi, St Stephanos and St Kiriaki, each with its own leafy square. The cache is located at the square of Agia(St) Paraskevi. At the square of Agia Paraskevi you will find the huge plane tree that it is said to be 1,000 years old and has a trunk of 14m in diameter. One of its branches is propped up on a stone plinth, as though it is leaning against a bar. Contrary to the usual laws of botany, two other branches join together above the trunk to form a single, seamless arm. It doesn't seem like a plant at all, more like a giant cuttlefish.
The cache is a small one and initially was a metallic waterproof box that closes firmly (Once, it used to be a coffee container), now it's a plastic tapper ware style box. It contains a log book with a pen and a pencil which are put into a zip-loc bag, a geocaching declaration form and originally some TBs and some items to trade.
You can reach the place by motorcycle, car or taxi or even with public transportation mean. I suggest that it' s better to use a private transportation mean. The cache is hidden at the basement of a stone wall covered with a stone. You can trust your GPS receiver even though the reception there is poor.
PLEASE pay attention to hide again the cache in the same way, trying not to let it exposed. Some stealth is required also for the same reason.
