ALMOND PUDDINGS
This is a regional cake made with eggs, flour, sugar and almonds. It's not very big and it is not too much sweet. But it's very tasty. Try it!
You can do so. Just walk arround the corner going north, from the cache location.
At the end of the 1920s when Álvaro Ferreira da Silva, owner of a very well known and popular café, married Júlia Crespo, he certainly never imagined their marriage would mean that Batalha would become famous for a traditional cake.
Júlia Crespo, who belonged to the Crespo families of Aveiro (where there was already a strong tradition of cake making), decided to bring the recipe for almond puddings a little further south. The café´s clientele immediately surrended to its exquisite taste. The growing popularity of the 'Batalha Puddings' led to other local cafés adopting this same original recipe.

São um doce regional feitos à base de farinha, ovos, açúcar e amêndoa. Não são muito grandes e também não são muito doces. Mas são muito saborosos. Prove-os!
Para o fazer, é só virar a esquina na direcção Norte a partir da localização da Cache.
No final dos anos 1920s, quando o sr. Álvaro Ferreira da Silva, proprietário de um muito conhecido e bem frequentado café, desposou a Sra. D. Júlia Crespo, decerto nunca imaginou que daí a Batalha viesse a conquistar uma especialidade na doçaria tradicional. A dita senhora, proveniente das famílias Crespo da cidade de Aveiro (já com tradição na confecção da doçaria regional), resolveu trazer a receita dos pudins de amêndoa um pouco mais para Sul, e logo a clientela do café se rendeu ao paladar de tão requintado doce.
A crescente popularidade dos 'Pudins da Batalha' levou outros estabelecimentos desta Vila a adoptarem a receita original.
A CACHE:
Devido ao fraco sinal no local, é melhor fazer bem o trabalho de casa. Tenha cuidado, pois pode haver muggles nas redondezas.
