Paço de Tavarede
A história deste edifício remete-nos para o séc. XVI e para a primeira construção realizada por vontade de António Fernandes de Quadros, Senhor da Casa de Buarcos e Vila Verde, que instituiu o morgadio de Tavarede. A sua desfiguração definitiva terá começado no séc. XVIII, quando se procedeu à remodelação total da fachada norte, mas também no século seguinte quando se procurou fazer uma reconstituição radical dos corpos do edifício, num estilo “falso manuelino”.
Tavarede Palace
The history of this building dates back to the XVI century when the first construction was carried out following the wishes of António Fernandes de Quadros, Master of the House of Buarcos and Vila Verde, who established the Hereditary Privileges of Tavarede. Damage to this building started in the XVIII century, when the North façade was completely remodeled and also during the following century when major reconstruction work was carried out on the main vaults of the building in a “false Manueline” style.
