Light bushwhacking through woods and downhill slope.
The posted coords are not the actual coords. They will put you into the Penobscot River. The actual coords are in the cache the Narrows 2 also located within the Penobscot Narrows State Park...aka Fort Knox State Park. After entering the cache coordinates from The Narrows 2, follow them through the woods to the ammo box. This will require some light bushwhacking and a downhill walk. There are plans to develop trails through this area in the future. Again, the cache is located well away from the historical site itself and has been placed with the permission of the State Park supervisor. The heavy tree canopy may cause some problems with gpsr reception. Enjoy the history of the fort and you may combine your visit with a trip to the top of the bridge tower. The State Park is open from 9:00 a.m. to dusk. Do not attempt this cache when the park is not open. There is an unactivated '07 Maine Geocoin for the person finding a clean log. Enjoy the hunt.
