This cache is part of a series of wells around Aberdeen (See The Gibberie Wallie Well for a history lesson...) Fidlers Well was originally located on Guild Street in 1857 by Alexander Fidler, a coal broker in the city.

The well, originally intended for horses, was also supplied with 2 cups for human use. Alexander Fidler died in 1885, but his well remained in use until 1957 when it was removed to allow extra parking space off Guild Street. The well was restored and for a time was one of the features in the Duthie Park. Restored once more by the Seven Incorporated Trades of Aberdeen, it now stands outside Trinity Hall in Holburn Street. Cache is a magnetic nano and is not 'hidden'.
