"A pé ou sobre duas rodas entre cidades - A pista de cicloturismo
resulta da transformação da linha férrea que ligou, durante
décadas, as cidades de Guimarães e de Fafe.Após a desactivação da
linha, as câmaras municipais de Fafe (em 1996) e de Guimarães (em
1999) decidiram converter o corredor numa pista, a qual tem
conhecido altos e baixos no que toca ao respectivo estado de
conservação.
A maioria dos utilizadores opta por utilizar a bicicleta, mas há
quem se faça à pista a pé, tirando partido do percurso, que é plano
(com excepção de cinco quilómetros no sentido Fafe-Guimarães, de
ligeira subida), e da paisagem, esta principalmente em território
fafense."
"A Câmara Municipal de Amarante aprovou o projecto de
execução da ecopista a construir no canal da Linha do Tâmega, entre
a estação de Amarante e o apeadeiro da Chapa. O projecto
encontra-se dividido em quatro partes, contemplando a primeira a
requalificação do canal e as três restantes a dos espaços
exteriores das estações de Amarante e os apeadeiros de Gatão e
Chapa.Com uma extensão de 13,757 metros, a ecopista terá uma
largura constante de 3,50 metros, sendo posto especial ênfase no
pavimento por se considerar que este “constitui um dos seus
principais factores de qualidade e de atractividade, pela
capacidade de a tornar praticável ao maior número de
actividades”.

Breve consideração do autor
Estes pequenos excertos são claros quanto à necessidade de serem
criadas mais ciclovias, para além das 30 ciclovias já existentes,
distribuídas pelos vários distritos. Ainda que muitas destas vias
estejam ligadas às estradas existentes, ou seja, ainda há a
possibilidade de absorvermos alguma poluição, a vantagem de haver
uma via prioritária é uma mais valia. Estava cada vez mais presente
a sensibilização para a utilização da bicicleta, não só por ser um
meio de transporte não poluente como também o facto de usar a nossa
própria energia, não tendo por isso que pagar os preços
exorbitantes que nos pedem pelos combustíveis. O objectivo desta
cache é dar a conhecer a ciclovia que vai desde S. Pedro de Moel
ate à Marinha Grande.
Cache
Devem estacionar o carro no waypoint dado, no outro lado da estrada
e seguir de bicicleta apartir daí ou melhor ainda, deixarem o carro
no centro de S. Pedro de Moel. Para chegarem à cache final
necessitam de procurar o conjunto de letras e apartir do quadro de
letras/números chegarem às coordenadas finais. O percurso até à
cache tem uma extensão inferior a 8 km (só ida). Para poderem logar
o found é necessário uma foto vossa de bicicleta na ciclovia. Por
favor não publique fotos que dêem indicações acerca do percurso ou
da cache final.
