STEINMAENNCHEN 3 ( CAIRN 3 )
Steinmann oder Steinmännchen (mundartlich in Bayern und Tirol auch Stoamandl, englisch cairn) nennt man eine Wegmarkierung in unübersichtlichem oder schwer begehbarem Gelände – wie Hochgebirge und Wüsten –
Diese Markierungen sind jedoch von den ähnlich aussehenden Steingräbern zu unterscheiden, im Englischen ebenfalls Cairn genannt werden.
Mit diesem Cache soll die Tradition der Steinmännchen wieder aufleben.
Vielleicht finden sich andere Geocacher, die mitbauen wollen, an einer Kette von Steinmännchen quer durch Deutschland, Europa, .......
Der Eingang zum Trail der zum Cache führt befindet sich bei 04° 38.831 S / 55° 27.169 E direkt an der Sans Souci Strasse etwa 6 km südlich von Victoria. Der Trail führt zum Mount Copolia. Am Cache hat man dann eine überwältigende Aussicht auf die Hauptstadt
Victoria und auf den St. Anne Marine National Park.
Wie logge ich diesen Cache ? Ganz einfach.
Einen Stein nehmen, Namen und Datum draufschreiben und am Steinmännchen ablegen.
Im Cache bedindet sich auch ein kleines Logbuch zum Loggen des Fundes.
The cache is located on the top of the Mount Copolia a couple of kilometres south of Victoria (on the Mahé island). You find the starting point of the trail on the Sans Souci road. It is marked with a sign. The entrance is located at 04° 38.831 S / 55° 27.169 E. The trail is about 1.5 km long and leads steeply uphill ! Don't forget to take along an adequate quantity of drinking water. The reward for the strenuous hike is a wonderful view over Victoria and the Ste Anne Marine National Park.
How to log the cache.
Just add a stone and sign it with your name and the date.
At the cache you will also find a small logbook (see picture) where you must inscribe your log.
