Forgotten quarry/Zapomenuty lom EarthCache

This cache has been archived.

Lo36: Nad touto keší jsem poslední dobou dost premýšlel a poslední log udelal jen onu poslední tecku. Puvodní nápad, že kacer si musí listing preložit a navštívit ony dne místa tedy kde se kámen težil a kde potom skoncil se mi líbil, bohužel cas ukázal že to byl nápad špatný až velmi, takže posílám do archivu.

Geocache Description:

On this coordinates is forgotten quarry, which was strategic object before WWII. Quarried rock was used for concrete czechoslovak´s
forts.

The desribe of quarried rock

This rock is a dark, coarse-grained, intrusive igneous rock chemically equivalent to basalt. It is a plutonic rock, formed when molten magma is trapped beneath the Earth's surface and cools into a crystalline mass. The vast majority of the Earth's surface is underlain by rock within the oceanic crust, produced by basalt magmatism at mid-ocean ridges. This rock is dense, greenish or dark-colored and contains varied percentages of pyroxene, plagioclase, amphibole, and olivine(olivine rock when olivine is present in large quantities). The pyroxene is mostly clinopyroxene; small amounts of orthopyroxene may be present. If the amount of orthopyroxene is substantially greater than the amount of clinopyroxene, the rock is then a Norite. Quartz rocks are also known to occur and are probably derived from magma that was over-saturated with silica. Essexites represent rocks whose parent magma was under-saturated with silica, resulting in the formation of the feldspathoid mineral nepheline. (Silica saturation of a rock can be evaluated by normative mineralogy). Rocks contain minor amounts, typically a few percent, of iron-titanium oxides such as magnetite, ilmenite, and ulvospinel. This rock is generally coarse grained, with crystals in the size range of 1 mm or greater. Finer grained equivalents of rock are called diabase, although the vernacular term microrock is often used when extra descriptiveness is desired. This rock may be extremely coarse grained to pegmatitic, and some pyroxene-plagioclase cumulates are essentially coarse grained rock, although these may exhibit acicular crystal habits. This rock is usually equigranular in texture, although it may be porphyritic at times, especially when plagioclase oikocrysts have grown earlier than the groundmass minerals.

For the valid "cache found" log:

1)send me via profile e-mail answers to next questions:

      a) Send me name of the quarried rock

      b) Process of rock formation

      c) Send me color of this quarried rock.

2) You have to upload a photo of You with GPS from both places !!!

      a) forgotten quarry

      b) your find final deposit of quarried rock (N 50 20.992 E16 18.463)
