Geocache Description:

This cache should only be attempted by adults in good physical condition with sound judgment and the ability to identify poison oak! NO KIDS!

My hang gliding club fly’s in the sky above this small peak. I have always thought it would be a great place for a cache. One day after flying I stopped to place this cache and found the terrain was much, much tougher that it looked from the sky.

There are two ways to get to this cache. The first is to park in the gravel pullout along highway 132 and cross the river. Be aware that the river is at the bottom of a very steep ravine with loose rocks and dirt. You may also pay the day use fee at the Horse Shoe Bend Recreation area of Lake McClure and follow the waters edge to the base of the hill.

When I placed this cache I approached from the lake to the south and followed the river. It took me less than two hours, round trip.

And if you see a bright green glider with a small black stripe, give me a wave!

11/11/08 - UPDATE: Congratulations to SB Junky and SCCS for an epic ascent to the peak to capture the FTF!!!
