Geocache Description:

For 144 million years ago, 10 ton sauropods wandered past this place. See their footprints with your own eyes.

For 144 millioner år siden vandrede 10 ton tunge sauropoder forbi dette sted. Se deres fodspor med dine egne øjne.

To log this cache, you must send the answer to the following questions to me, by using the contact function on gc.com

a) What has caused the great colour difference in sediments over and under the footprints?
b) What kind of dinosaur is a sauropod?

3) When you have got your answer confirmed, you can log your visit.

According to the local leader of "The Danish Nature Preservation Society", geologist "Jørgen Butzbach", there will not be done anything to preserve the cliff with the footprints. As time goes by the visible footprints will erode away, and new will surface.

The area was geologically seen, 144 million years ago (the early cretaceous period) a subtropical flood delta environment, containing areas with still waters with a high content of organic material.

It's possible to se fossilized, vertical burrows from freshwater lungfish, that lived at the sime time, as the sauropods left their footprints.
