ThunderEggs: I am archiving this cache because it's come to my attention that there is a no trespassing sign in the area. The guidelines for publication on geocaching.com say this:

Geocache Description:

Grant Butte - City of Gresham
Big water reservoir, forested hiking trails, nice views of the surrounding area (especially Powell Butte and Gresham Buttes). [See photo link below.]

Best parking/access is at NW 3rd st & Royal ave -OR- SE Tibbets ct & 186th plc.

The cache is a large clear flat tupperware container with a red lid, and is externally marked as a geocache. Inside is a logbook and pen. For first-to-find I included a YAG laser crystal in a pouch, a jumbo superball, and the video game "Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter" for PC/Windows (if you take it, be sure to have a machine capable of at least running Half Life 2 on high graphics settings).

The trail to take you to the spot is obvious, and once you find the big spooky chimney you'll know you're in the right area. WHO KNOWS what that witch has been cooking up there, but it sure is creepy either way! You should be safe enough if you venture up there because there aren't any corners to have to stand in...

Nettles are around so long pants are preferable to shorts.
