Puvodne stala na rohu dnesni Privozske a Dvorakovy ulice. Kdyz byl v 90. letech 19. stoleti z puvodniho hrbitova utvoren mestsky park Cisare Josefa (dnesni Husuv park) a ulice kolem neho byly rozsireny, byla zbourana. Mesto se tehdy rozhodlo postavit kapli novou. Samotnou stavbu provazely diskuse jak o umisteni stavby, tak o jejich rozmerech. Znamy moravskoostravsky advokat a verejny cinitel Edmund Palkovsky byl jednim z iniciatoru dopisu obecnimu predstavenstvu, ve kterem nabadal, aby byla na jinem, vhodnejsim miste zrizena velka kaple bud pro "...cetne a vzdy se mnozici skoly, v niz by skolni bohosluzby odbyvati se mohly..." , nebo pro "...zdejsi klaster ctihodnych sester svateho krize, jez by byla dustojna svemu vznesenemu venovani...". Obecni predstavenstvo nakonec tyto pripominky neprijalo a rozhodlo, ze kaple bude postavena naproti budove posty. Stavba v novogotickem slohu podle navrhu stavitele Hanse Ulricha probehla v letech 1899 - 1900. O novy oltar a vyzdobu se zaslouzil obchodnik a mestan Julius Stalmach a podle farni kroniky prispeli take "ostrostrelci z vinarny Vincence Poppa". Obec takto uctila pamatku cisarovny Alzbety, zvane Sissi, ktera byla zavrazdena 10. zari 1898 v Zeneve italskym anarchistou Lucchenim, ktery tam puvodne planoval atentat na prince z rodu Orleans. Ten ale neprijel, a tak si vybral za obet cisarovnu. Pobliz pristavu ji probodl pilnikem. Zranena cisarovna jeste dosla na lod, tam se zhroutila a zemrela. [Zdroj, Puvodni planek]
Vzhledem k tomu, ze dle zprav z tisku budou na kaplicce v nejblizsi dobe probihat opravy, ustanovujeme timto kacersky stavebni dozor.
Dekujeme za fotografii kaplicky prilozenou k logu. Neni to podminka, ale i tak budeme radi.
Nasledujici generace kaceru budou pekne sledovat fotkou po fotce, jak se zanedbana kaple temer v centru mesta meni na vystavni kus, na ktery budeme moci byt hrdi.
Ostrava nema tak moc pamatek na stare casy, tak proc si je nepohlidat.
Pro prvniho nalezce je v krabicce pripravena drobnost, ktera jiste potesi ucho. Kdo nevi, co to je, hlavne probuh nikam nestrkat! ;)
Poznamka: misto je znacne premudlene - budte prosim pri hledani, vyzvedavani a naslednem vraceni kese velmi opatrni a kes davejte presne tam, kde jste ji nasli! Ne na predmet vedle, nebo ne na predmet tamhle naproti. Presne tam, kde byla (viz hint)!!! Uz se parkrat stalo, ze nekdo vyzvedl, vzal stranou, logoval a pak zjistil, ze puvodni misto je obsazene a tak se sam rozhodl, ze da krabicku jinde. Spatne!!!.

And, somehow, it doesn't match the newly reconstructed park. Perhaps one day some councillor's car ran out of petrol and he had to walk to work. And he noticed as well. And he started to act.
EN: The chapelle was originally located on the corner of today's Privozska and Dvorakova Streets. When the original cemetery had been turned into Emperor Josef City Park in the 1890s (today's John Huss Park) and the streets around were enlarged, the chapelle was torn down. The city had decided to build a new chapel. The construction itself was accompanied by discussions about where precisely it should be located as well as what its dimensions should be. Mr Edmund Palkovsky, a well-known Moravian-Ostravian lawyer and public figure, was one of the initiators of a letter to the city assembly where he requested that a new, bigger chapel was established on a different, more suitable place either for "… numerous and ever-growing number of schools where the school masses could take place…", or for "…local monastery of honourable nuns of Sacred Cross which would be worthy of its noble dedication…". Eventually, these conditions were not accepted by the city assembly and it was decided that the chapel would be built in front of the post office building. The construction in Neo-gothic style was carried out between 1899 and 1900. Mr Julius Stalmach has merit in the construction of the altar and the decoration of the chapel and according to the city chronicle, the "sharp-shooters from Vincenc Popp Wine Restaurant" contributed as well. In this way, the city commemorated Empress Elizabeth, called Sissi, who was murdered on 10 September 1898 in Geneva by Italian anarchist Luigi Luccheni, who originally plotted assassination of the prince from the house of Orléans. He did not arrive after all, so Luccheni chose the Empress as his victim. Near the Geneva port, he stabbed her with a file. Considering the fact that according to press news there will be reconstruction works carried out on the chapelle, we hereby establish cachers' supervision.
The next generation of cachers will be able to follow photo by photo how the neglected chapel almost in the very centre of the city is transformed into a unique piece of architecture, which we can be proud of.
Ostrava doesn't have many souvenirs of old times so why not take care of them.
