Geocache Description:

Easy Cache & Dash. Small container with Log Only

Welcome to Pine Grove Colorado. Pine Grove has been around since the early 1800's but was "Established" 1886. This was a stop for the Denver South Park Railroad. The train would bring mail, supplies, and people back and forth between Denver and Leadville. It also hauled lumber harvested from Pike National Forest, to help constuct Denver in it's early years.
Pine, Buffalo Creek, and Sphinx Park also became vacation communities for the city slickers. The last train out of Pine, departed in March of 1937.
Pine, Sphinx Park, and Buffalo Creek, still contain evidence of the old railroad, supporting buildings, and rich history of that era.
