Da wir Fans von der Insel RAB sind und schon im Frühjahr einen Kurztrip auf RAB eingeschoben haben, haben wir auch gleich beschlossen hier einen Cache zu deponieren. Fahren Sie am besten zum Hafen in die Altstadt (leider sind die Parkmöglichkeiten fast überall gebührenpflichtig dzt. 1 Stunde 2 Kuna). Von dort begebt Euch in Richtung Stadtpark auf die Rückseite der Stadt. Bei einem kleinen Felsen in einer Spalte liegt der Cache (Unser Matthias (shark) fand ein super Spoilerbild, der Pfeil zeigt genau zum Cache.) Wir wünschen allen viel Spass beim cachen. Ursprünglich im Cache: (leider ist die Box nur 10cmx8cmx4cm groß - daher bitte kleine Dinge zum "traden" bereit halten. Aber am besten ist, wenn ihr Euch Zeit für diese wunderschöne Stadt und ihre Sehenswürdigkeiten nehmt: Willkommen auf der Insel und in der Stadt Rab! Die Stadt Rab ist Mittelpunkt der gleichnamigen Insel Rab im Kvarner Archipel. Sie zählt zu den grünsten Inseln der Adria. Rab ist stolz auf seine jahrhundert bestehende Erfahrung im Tourismus und seine reichhaltige Baukultur, die noch aus der Antike resultiert. Ihre mittelalterlichen Ritterspiele sind ein unvergessliches Erlebnis für alle Besucher. Zu Zeiten Roms wurde Rab Arba genannt. Auf einer gut erhaltenen antiken Amphora findet sich erstmals der Name Felix Arba, d.h. glückliche Insel. Arba besaß schon damals die wichtigsten städtischen Inhalte wie: Aquädukte, Therme, Tempel und ein Theater. Im Verlauf der Geschichte kamen noch vier Glockentürme hinzu, die Wahrzeichen der heutigen Altstadt sind. Alles in allem - Vier Glockentürme auf der Insel des Glücks! Die Residenz Astoria liegt mitten in der Altstadt Rab am historischen Platz Municipium Arba D.X.A.C. Der vollkommen restaurierte und auf römischen Sarkophagen errichtete venezianische Palazzo diente in früheren Jahrhunderten als Zollhaus, Sanatorium und eines der ersten Hotels in Rab. Die Residenz Astoria befindet sich in der Fußgängerzone der Altstadt, dessen Attraktionen alle in unmittelbarer Nähe sind: Kathedrale, Kloster, Stadt Loggia, ACY Marina, Parks, Tennisplätze, Nachtleben und Shopping.
