Container is a section of Schedule 40 pipe with a screw on cap. Dedicated to Mouser, who established the first South Sandia Schedule 40 cache (GC259) now archived.
I first went looking for the original Schedule 40 cache in August of 2007. I was forced to log a DNF and noted that it had not been found since December 2006. At the time I suspected that it might be missing, but wrote it off to my lack of acumen. Lately it became obvious that the cache was in fact gone, so I decided to build a replacement based on Mouser's original description. It took me awhile to get everything ready, and, before I could get there, LuckyStrike1 had already replaced it (see GC1A5WJ).
Not a problem. This is a great area for caches, so I decided to place my cache in Mouser's honor a little further up the trail. To get to the cache, follow the directions for Schedule 40 cache above. Beyond the original Schedule 40 site the trail continues through a nice little pinon and juniper woods along the top of the ridge. The cache is a little off this trail among some rocks with great views.
Original contents: Let's go for a hike Travel Bug, All Seasons (Winter) Geocoin, M&M toy, mini-frisbee, flashlight, tire gauge, glow stick, and Chapstick.
The trail looks like in continues back down towards Embudo Canyon, but I went back the way I had come. If someone decides to go down this trail, post a note about where it comes out below.
