Some More Kool Aid Fountain Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

GeoCraig: A great site for a cache, but this one just disappears too often. I'm going to archive it. Perhaps another cacher might want to try keeping a cache active here.

Geocache Description:

A blue bison tube located near one of Los Angeles' landmark fountains.

William Mulholland went from being a ditch tender with the Los Angeles City Water Company to be the superintendent and chief engineer of the city’s water department. He was responsible for building the 233-mile aqueduct that brings the Owens River water to Los Angeles. The water arrived in Los Angeles on November 5, 1913. Mulholland Drive was named in his honor.

The Mulholland Fountain was dedicated August 1, 1940. It quickly was dubbed the Kool-Aid Fountain because of the way it was illuminated with colored light at night.

While you are here, carefully cross the street and bag Griffith Squared.

As long as you are in the area, stop by FVNEM? by Eagle Rock Rob. A short exercise is required to find the proper coordinates (Be careful--I was 1 digit off and it took me to the wrong neighborhood).

This cache replaces The Kool Aid Fountain GCPB3Z.  I went by to do some maintenance and couldn't find my own cache.
