Geocache Description:

Dartmoor is a favourite place of ours whilst Paul may love the walking I have always been fascinated in the myths and legends and history that surrounds Dartmoor, so this quest is designed to take you on a tour of some of these


To find this cache you will have to go on a virtual tour over Dartmoor gathering information as you go. This may require the use of a search engine an O.S map or knowledge you may find from other sources
By guessing the places involved you will gather answers to help you find the caches location

1 The starting point is a church that must be the unluckiest church in the country. The evil man whose remains are incarcerated died in what year(- A - -)
2 Our next part of the journey will take you to Matins corner and to the remains of a small chapel built by Keble Martin 1909 what are the first three digits of the SX grid reference(- B -)
3 The next stage will take you to an area littered with kistvaens .Local tradition has it that in the ( - - C -`s) this one particular grave was the meeting place for a coven of witches from Plymouth
4 The next part of your journey will take you slightly further afield to a place where three valiant soldiers are buried after dying in snow drifts. Their grave is marked with a slate memorial, at the back of St Michael’s church. What age was Joseph Penton( - D)
5 This next stage will take you to the ruins of a house named after a garden creature. What year was it sold to the forestry commission ( - - EF )
6 The journey comes to an end in a place famed for its ghosts and nearby are ancient dwellings and graves of their time. The deserted medieval village is situated about a quarter of a mile to the south-east This place was first recorded in the Domesday Book of what year ( - GH - )
