Le Pont-Barré situé au pied du rocher de Servière symbolise à lui seul les guerres de Vendée.Son origine remonte au XIII eme siecle.
La canalisation du Layon par "Monsieur" frére de Louis XVI (d'où son nom de Canal de Monsieur) provoque la création d'une écluse, d'un bief de dérivation, elle va aussi obligé la transformation du Pont-Barré, en effet les 3 arches existantes sont remplacées par des traverses de bois pour permettre le passage des bateaux.
Cet obelisque a été érigée en 1993 marque la limite de la Vendée militaire.
A partir de cette position, vous avez une trés belle vue sur la vallée du Layon et le "pont barré, et malheureusement aussi sur l'autoroute. La cache se trouve sous la dernière marche de l'escalier qui mène à la stèle.

 

Pont-Barré at the foot of rock Servière epitomizes Vendée civil wars.Son originated in the XIII th century.
The Layon channel by "Mr." brother of Louis XVI (hence the name of Mr. Canal) causes the creation of a lock, and a reach of derivation, it is also forced the transformation of Pont-Barre, the three existing arches are replaced by wooden sleepers to allow the passage of boats.
This obelisk was erected in 1993 marks the boundary of the military Vendée.
From this location, you have a beautiful view over the Layon river in the vicinity of "pont barré" and unfortunately on the highway. The cache is under the last step going to the memorial.
