Little Crow Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

knowschad: This is one of the most unusual cases of muggling I have ever experienced. I went for a ride down the bike trail that goes past this cache. As I passed, I looked over into the woods to see two burly guys hoisting the huge cast-iron relic that my cache was hidden on into a wheelbarrow! This was a piece of a railroad "truck" (or, wheel) that had been there for many years. I guess they decided to salvage it for the scrap iron.

I considered asking them to let me take my cache off first, but decided it best to just keep moving.

I have some ideas for a new cache nearby if the spot doesn't get taken first. Meanwhile... this one is gone!

Geocache Description:

Another cache in the Kaposia Landing series

This was a very important area in the earliest periods of the development of the Twin Cities. To visit this area without the proper sense of history would be a shame!

To learn a bit about Little Crow and his family of Kaposia Dakotas that lived here in the mid 1800's, check out this site:. There is actually a LOT more history available for those willing do do some digging, and it is very interesting!

PS: Please bring your own pen or pencil with you.

There is absolutely NO need to vault any fences. The cache is very clearly in the park and not in the nearby railroad yard, which is separated by a very tall chainlink fence.
