O acesso à praia é feito por passadiços de madeira por entre uma imensa vegetação natural que percorre toda a costa. A Praia da Costa de Lavos, oferece não só um mar a perder de vista como também toda a natureza envolvente que lhe dá uma beleza única. Divida por pontões, torna-se mais abrigada em dias de mar mais tempestuoso.
A Costa de Lavos, tem bons apoios de praia e diversões na areia para entreter entre um banho e outro, a existência de um pequeno parque desportivo com campo de futebol e um skate park com half pipes num dos acessos a esta praia.
The access to the beach is through narrow wooden passages among the vast natural vegetation through-out the coast. The beach “Costa de Lavos” not only offers you the sea as far as the eye can see, but also the unique beauty of its involving nature.Divided by pontoon-bridges it’s more sheltered when the sea is more tempestuous.
There are a lot of good things available at “Costa de Lavos” such as very good beach assistance. A small park for sports practices, a football and skate park with half pipes at one of the beach accesses, for entertainment between one swim and another
De salientar que os pescadores ainda mantêm a Arte Xávega, sendo esta uma arte piscatória tradicional que consiste em os pescadores saírem da areia com o seu Barco do Mar e venceram as ondas que rebentam na praia. Afastam-se da costa largando as suas redes. Quando estas já estão em forma de cerco, regressam à praia, agora ao sabor das ondas. No areal vão recolhendo a rede com a ajuda de um tractor. Antigamente este trabalho estava reservado a uma junta de bois.
Noticeable is the fact that they still maintain the art “Xávega” this being their traditional fishing-art witch consists of the men leaving with their fishingbaots to sea from the beach through the sand and against the waves that break out on the beach. They leave the fishing net along the way as far as possible and then they circle back with the waves, on the sand the two ends of the net are joined and pulled to land with the help of a tractor, (this used to be done by oxen).
