Die Geschichte des Landhauses Els Calderers kann bis ins Jahr 1285 zurückverfolgt werden. In diesem Jahr wird der Landsitz unter dem Namen der Besitzerfamilie Calderers erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Noch im 13. Jahrhundert erwarb die Adelsfamilie Verí die gesamte Anlage. Das heutige stattliche Hauptgebäude wurde ab 1750 errichtet und wurde stetig bis ins frühe 19. Jahrhundert erweitert.
Das Hauptgebäude ist ein charakteristisches Beispiel für den mallorquinischen Landhausstil Finca rustica. Es ist ein dreistöckiges Gebäude mit schlichter Fassade und einem Rundbogeneingang. Das Gebäude (18. und frühes 19. Jahrhundert, mehrfach umgebaut) besitzt einen schönen Innenhof, der auf mallorquinisch saclastra genannt wird. Im Innenhof befindet sich ein Brunnen cisterna, der heute noch frisches Wasser fresquisima agua, wie im Buch "Die Balearen" von Archiduque Luis Salvador schon erwähnt wurde, liefert. Ein Figürchen hier, eine handgearbeitete Spitzendecke da, monumentale Fauteuils und elegante Sofas, an den Wänden Porträts der Ahnen und Urahnen in Öl, zeugen noch heute vom erlesenen Geschmack der Herrschaft. Die alten Mallorquiner wussten ihren Wohlstand nicht nur zu genießen, sondern auch zur Schau zu stellen.
Wir finden, dass der Besuch sich lohnt.
