Geocache Description:

The difficult part is getting there. You will need to drive over very rough roads for a long way, or take a tour boat from Orange Walk Town. The tour will take most of a day beginning at 9:00 and ending at 4:00. The tour fee includes the boat ride for more than 30 miles on a river where you will see crocodiles, iguanas and many species of birds. When you arrive at the site of the very well developed ancient Mayan ruins, you will be served a good meal and can visit the museum. Then you can walk on paths through the rain forest where you are likely to see howler monkeys in the wild. Archeologists have discovered more than 700 structures in this area that was once inhabited by over a million people. The cache is hidden near the top of the tallest structure in the ancient Mayan ruins. The initial phase of construction for this structure began in 100 BC. You will need to be able to climb up very steep steps. There is a rope available to hold onto while going up or down. From this point you will have a spectacular 360 degree view which includes the surrounding rain forest and the river.

You are looking for a waterproof match container that is olive green and about 1inch round and 3 inches long. The cache contains only a log sheet, so please bring your own pen or pencil.
