Geocache Description:

CRiC 2008 will be held on the weekends of 1-2 and 8-9 March, to coincide with the inaugural Crickhowell Walking Festival, which runs over the same period – you can find details on the website at http://www.crickhowellinfo.org.uk/events/walkingFestival08/ .

The Event is complementary to the Walking Festival and you will not have to complete any of their organised walks to take part in the Geocache Event.

Towards the end of February, 6 new permanent caches will be activated in and around the Crickhowell area and a series of tokens will be left in each one – different on each weekend. On the weekend of 1-2 March and again on 8-9 March, whoever is first to collect a set of 6 individual tokens and hand them in to Headquarters (the Crickhowell Resource & Information Centre – hence CRiC - at SO2180018500) will receive a prize of a Gift Token for the UKGeocachers shop.

To take part in the CRiC 08 Geocache Event, you will first have to complete a registration form at CRiC HQ - open from 9 am on Saturday 1 March and again on Saturday 8 March

Even if you don’t find all 6, please register your tokens at the CRiC HQ, because if a full set is not handed in, you may still win.

There is a Powys County Council (Pay) Car Park at the back of CRiC HQ and other limited duration roadside parking around the town. On the afternoon of Saturday 1 March, an area will be set aside at the St David’s Fair (Clarence Hall, Crickhowell), for Geocachers to meet and chat about Geocaching and exchange Travel Bugs etc. On the 3rd, 8th and 9th a room will be set aside for Geocachers in the CRiC HQ.

So, if you fancy spending some time in the beautiful Black Mountains area of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this is the Event for you. If you’re thinking of an overnight stay, you’ll find plenty of links on the website for all sorts of local accommodation and there are plenty of other things going on if you don’t want to spend all of your time Geocaching – Have a great time!!
