Geocache Description:

There are two alternative methods of resolving this cache that require some persistence, There are fantastic views at the final site so don't attempt this cache on a wet day. A compass and a pair of binoculars would be helpful but are not essential

In Greek mythology, Pandora (Anesidora) was the first woman. The name means ‘all gifts’. Zeus ordered Hephaestus to make a woman out of earth, who by her charms and beauty would bring misery upon the human race! Each of the gods gave her some power by which she was to work the ruin of man. [Geocachers may accuse Espargosas of being sexist and not politically correct. Well, that’s too bad! Kindly refer your complaints to Zeus, who started the rot! But bear in mind that Team Espargosas is now representative of both sexes.]. Hermes took Pandora to Epimetheus who married her. Whether Epimetheus was a geocacher or not Espargosas does not know. However, for sure, in his house was a cache that he had forbidden anyone to open. You can guess the rest…. Pandora’s feminine curiosity got the better of her and……...she duly opened the cache whereupon the evils of man rushed out, leaving only ‘HOPE’ inside before she was able to close the lid. In the case of this cache…… fear not, you are unlikely to emulate Pandora. Of course, there is more to the story than the above and, if you cannot recall it, you might care to refresh your memory.

At the above coordinates, you will obtain details of two alternatives, one of which you must choose to lead you to solving the mystery of Pandora’s Box.

You could reach Stage 2 and the final site in a 4-WD vehicle. Otherwise, be prepared to walk for about 1 km up a stony track.

Depending upon which alternative you choose you may find that your problems have only just started when you reach Pandora’s Box! You should be able to complete the cache hunt well within 1-2 hours after finding the first location.
