Welcome to Ronneby Harbour!
At this place was a swingbridge, that allowed rather big ships
go up and down on Ronneby River all 4 kilometers up to town and the
"Custom barrier". You can see the fundament on each riverbank, and
the swingtap in the middle of the river. The bridge itself with
manoveridng mekaisms, was pulled down in consequens of building of
the new bridge.
In early 1960 the new solid, not openable bridge was build, and
that was the complete end of all traffic on the river. Today only
small boats, lower than 1,5 meter to masttop can go under the first
bridge. The new harbour you can see outside this bridge.
