A bridge is built over a river now Here was a ferry boat in old days There was ferry boat here in 1684 The person who went on a trip went over a river in ferry boat to cross this river. 甲州街道は江戸時代はじめの慶長十年(1605)に整備されました 多摩川は奥多摩からの筏流しがあり、江戸湾から帆船の川船が上り下りして、渡し船と交差することから、ニアミスや衝突事故もあったそうです。大正十五年(1926)に日野橋が架けられるまで渡し船は存在していました。
