We all know geocachers are good citizens and a friendly lot. Well here is your opportunity to help out one in our community and also the wider community in general.
Meet at Winglen's Woodland cache at 3pm on Sunday 3rd Feb - a bonus if, like me, you haven't already found it.
3-4pm - the hunt is on...
You may have seen Sol de Lune's recent forum post. We are looking for Sol de Lune's expensive prescription glasses, but also doing a clean up in the general area. Sol de Lune will be attending and he can provide guidance on the specific search area. Depending on numbers attending, we will probably try to organise a systematic search/sweep of the area.
If the glasses are not recovered within the hour, then it is unlikely that they will ever be found, so Sol de Lune can order replacements knowing that we have given it our best shot.
BYO rubbish bags (and gloves if desired) - supermarket bags should be adequate (I will have spare rubbish bags if you forget).
If anyone happens to have a metal detector that might prove useful too!
I suggest that everyone also brings a bottle of water.
Prize: an unactivated geocoin to the finder of the (intact) glasses
Notes:
1. The reward money does not apply during the event - but then I know you wouldn't have accepted it in any case!
2. If the glasses are recovered prior to the event, or if the glasses are found but broken (as assessed by Sol de Lune), the geocoin will become a lucky door prize.
3. Other trackables should not be logged in/out of this event, but you can always leave them in the Woodland cache if you wish.
Tread carefully!
PS As with any event listing, I suggest that anyone who is planning to attend put a watch on the cache, so that you are advised of any last minute notifications.
