I was involved in a certain sport, as was my father. We worked together both in and away from the sport. My father died locally when I was in my twenties, so I then had to run our business on my own. In sport, I was lucky enough to win a world championship. Sadly I too died early, again locally and actually within a few miles of this pub. I was still World Champion when I died and was about to marry a beautiful model. For those who enjoy that type of thing, remove an “n” from my surname and you have an anagram of hers. Had my life not ended the way it did, I may not have made it to old age as I had other health problems. As if my life needed a final twist, I have a son.

This restaurant used to be a pub in which I spent many happy hours in good company. Both etchings on the door and the name on the bus stop outside give a clue to its previous life. Possible parking is available at the commercial buildings 100yrds to the East of here which were once our renowned business, but very little of the structure remains. I see a new office building nearby has been given a pleasing name. On the sign outside the restaurant are two rows of numbers, the top line ending with an “18”.
