These buildings were given it's name because in the 1800's a military barracks was located where they stand today.
The Barrack Point Potash Terminal is didecated solely to storing and shipping potash. The potash is sold to Mexico South America,Europe and other global markets.

Potash is used as an ingredient to fertilizer, but it is also used in the manufacturing of soaps, glass, pharmecenitical drugs and paper.
Half of the worlds' supply of potash is found in New Brunswick and Saskatchewan. New Brunswick's potash mine is located in Sussex, with deposits as deep as 3,200 feet.
