I was working on a way to create a cache where it would only be
available once a month, but couldn't come up with a workable plan.
Then I saw TRAKD's
7 Days of First-to-Finds which I liked a lot - the cache, the
oddsmaking, the controversies - and was able to combine the 2
ideas. It could generate a similar experience to what I was looking
for, which may create even more mischief...
You may find and log this cache on any date that you
wish.
IMPORTANT: LOG YOUR GEOTAG IN THE BOX FOR
THE DATE THAT YOU FIND IT!
The first person to find this cache each
month in 2008 may claim a FTF for that month! Yes,
12 FTFs will be awarded
throughout the year. Each month begins at midnight (12:00:00 am)
Pacific Time on the 1st. In a case where more than one cacher
arrives and finds the cache before 11:59:59 pm on the day before
the 1st, so that each are there at the moment the next month
begins, THERE WILL BE NO CO-FTFs!
Rock, paper, scissors, or some other agreed upon random method
shall be used to determine the ONE FTF for that month. Non-winners
(PC enough?) may come back another month to try again.
As with any traditional cache, it may be logged
ONCE, and only once. If you’re not
an avid FTF seeker, or you can’t wait, you may find it on any day
in any given month – remember to log your name in the box of the
date that you find it.
In the unlikely event that this cache is not logged on the first
of any month, that FTF will go to the first person to log in on any
other date of that month – though I doubt that’s gonna happen!

this cache: On 1/1/2009 it will either be archived, or it will
convert into a basic cache. In either case,
Update, 12/1/08: NO FTFs will be awarded in 2009! In January
I will replace the calendar with a notepad for a log, and this
cache will become a TB hotel.
Update: 7/1/08
As much as I enjoy trying to keep that Flatlander FTF Fanatic
(who has promised one on this cache) from being one of the 12 (for
proof see my May log on the5Bucks'
12 MONTHS of FTF and FTH!), I feel some ammendments are needed
for this one.
AMMENDMENTS:
#1. Do not move, or temporarily hide the cache.
#2. Do not try to create a flash-mob event at midnight on the
first. Fun as it
was
the reviewers won't allow them
anymore.
#3. Do not create a splinter account just to log a FTF on this
cache. After all, they're unlimted and I feel they go against the
spirit of the fun for this one. If I suspect that is the case, the
find will be deleted.
Yes, these ammendments are stricly reactionary, so short of
kidnapping LC77, and/or having him arrested for 24 hrs there might
still be some ways left to work in...
