Event Updates:
If anyone wishes to participate in a 'Race back to Oz' and have
their coins posted to Denmark for a race back home, please bring
their coins to the event so that they can be collected.
The event holders are funding the hire of the area at 'Kids
Town' for the day. The reason we are mentioning this is that Kids
Town asks for donations in a collection spot near the main
playground, it is fair to so that the cost of the hire covers the
cost for these 'donations' for the day. However, you can still make
an additional donation if you feel the need.
The cdmark team may be represented by one member or 4! This will
depend if D and GeoJnr II are out of the hospital in time. We have
confirmation of a caesarean for Tuesday the 22nd. Yes, we are
cutting in fine. No wonder I am losing my hair!
Event Updates End:
After a suggestion from The Morris, who organised a great
cache event in Bendigo last year, and keeping with the ANZAC
geocaching tradition, Shepparton will be hosting the Central
Victorian Get Together for 2008.
We've cured the mad cow disease, and cleared the place of the
recent outbreak of zombies...Resident Evil style...so now it's safe
to hold a geocaching event.
When
Well Anzac Day, obviously! April 25th from 10:00am.
Where
At Kidstown between Shepparton and Mooroopna an easy two-hour

comfortably seat 50-80 people and we will have access to 3 BBQ's.

What
"Race back to Denmark"
On the day of the event there will be a number of coins handed
out to participate in a "Race back to Denmark". The conditions for
this are as follows:
1. Coins will be handed out at the event to those who wish to
participate in the race.
2. The first stop for a coin must be into a cache that is within
50km of the Anzac Day event.
3. If possible please place in traditional caches.
4. If possible please log in 'easy' caches (terrain+difficulty <
or = 4)
5. Please drop whenever possible!
6. After placing the coin in a cache, the same cacher/s cannot
retrieve the coin it must be done by another cacher or team.
We will also be collecting coins to post to Denmark for a
similar race back here. For those who wish to participate please
bring your coins to the event.
Suggested tips for trackables:
It is becoming more common that some coin and trackable owners
do not wish for their items to physically attend events as they can
be misplaced. Please respect this when attending the event and
refer to the trackable description if in doubt.
If you are bringing trackables to the event it may be an
advantage to make several copies of the trackable codes for your
items and hand them out when people sight them. This way people can
still sight the items but it reduces the chance of them being mixed
up in other collections, or dropped etc. This may also be time
saving on the day as we know that these items can be very
popular.
Activities/Competitions:
We also plan to arrange a couple of activities with prizes on
the day. These will only be brief so as to allow for people to go
and out and tackle a few of the local caches. The activities will
be worked out after consultation with a few more of the local
cachers.
Let's Eat:
We have now formalised a dinner for Friday night which will be at
the GV Hotel. To post your intentions to attend, even if you have
already done so below, and to also find out additional information
