Near the Sangster International Airport, Montego Bay, Jamaica at a very public place (not the parking lot).
NOTE: September 21, 2008- Construction of a new entrance to the airport is occurring where the previous cache was hidden. The "Welcome to Sangster" sign has been removed. I was able to retrieve the cache and move it to a temporary location (on another sign) about 150 feet from the previous site. The new coordinates are: N 18 29.767 W 077 55.031 It is still in the original magnetic keybox, but I had to replace the logbook because when the welcome sign was removed it was placed where the cache was possibly completely covered with water during the recent hurricanes. When the construction is completed I will try to replace the cache closer to it's original location. Most of the other information below still applies to the current cache site. The hint below is also new and applies to the current hiding place.
ORIGINAL CACHE DESCRIPTION:
This cache is a magnetic keybox with a logbook and small pencil. It is located in a very public place where there is a lot of vehicle traffic, but probably not many pedestrians. So, when you are near the site, there will be nearby parking places that you will only need to walk less than 300 feet. When you approach the cache, it may be helpful to pretend to use a camera as though you are a tourist taking a photo. Most likely the persons in vehicles going by will not pay any attention to you.
Be careful of fast moving vehicle traffic. Although there are usually no mugglers in this area, if someone happens to be nearby, please use stealth while at the cache and replace it exactly as you found it so that it is not visible to non-geocachers.
NO PROBLEM MON, unless you happen to be one of the unlucky tourists on a bus going to an all-inclusive resort. Your bus probably won’t stop here. Your best opportunity is to wait until you arrive back at the airport and are finished checking in at the ticket counter for your flight. Then, you probably will have at least an hour wait which is plenty of time to make this short walk and quick grab before you go through the security checkpoint. But, don’t miss you flight because of this geocache!
The cache is large enough for small coins. The original contents included 3 Jamaican coins.
Update March 14, 2010 The sign has been repainted so there is a new hint and a new spoiler photo if you wish to look at the photos.
