Geocache Description:

A small size traditional cache in the centre of Athens, where non-micros are scarce! Hidden on Arditos, the wooded hill beside the stadium where the first contemporary Olympic Games were held in 1896 (photo).

Important: The hill is fenced all around. The entrance is from behind the stadium, at 16 Archimidous St. [N37 58.053, E023 44.563 (see map!)] Be prepared to climb quite a number of steps! Past the entrance, follow the race training track to the left, taking the opportunity to see the historic stadium from above, then take the footpath on your left... The gate is open only during daytime so please make sure you are not locked in in the evening! Remember: Geomuggles may appear around at any moment, so please be very careful -and please take care to hide the cache back properly!

(Note: The authority responsible for this hill/park is somewhat vague and there are no official opening hours. The gate is presently controlled by an athletic club whose people simply say that the entrance is free "every day from early in the morning till late in the evening". However, I have happened to find it closed early Saturday/Sunday morning as well as on certain public holidays...)
