Geocache Description:

About SideTracked

We have Motorway Mayhem. We have A-Road Anarchy and even Village Vexation. Now a series for public transport users! SideTracked Caches are intended to provide quick cache-and-dashes at train stations. This one is by the side of a busy road and bus route!

About Birmingham International station

It's actually in Solihull like the NEC and "Birmingham's" airport!! Make sure you used the free short-stay car park and keep a look out for the new Maglev train passing by.
Brummies still call it this although it is now longer lifted and powered by magnetic forces (as the original one was in the '80's) but rather is pulled along by a wire hauser in the fashion of a horizontal cable car!

Still it's a great way to get to and from the cache site quickly from the airport - but whatever you do, don't forget to tip the driver!!

About the cache

This should be an easy find though you are very exposed to public view so you may have to be seen to be phoning or texting - the usual geocaching bluffs. Please do not come bring heavy cases or rucksacks with you as this might attract the attention of security people. On 3/3/09 it was upgraded to a small box that should be waterproof and will take geocoins up to 2.5 inches diameter. Steve-e-b's "BHX TB Lounge" (GCR66K) is a better cache for large TB's but is not so convenient for air passengers to get to, so I hoped this much smaller box would help some coins get abroad. It is now (6/April 2012) even larger so the above does not apply. To this date (Aug 2013) it had never been 'muggled' (to the best of my knowledge) . However, when it was at the base of a lampost-type structure it was found out in the open on the grass on 3 occasions but this seems to have been animals like foxes or squirrels.

As a result of this, the cache is now back at its original co-ordinates, where I have been able to place a small ice cream tub in a nice dry spot so it can now take reasonable size TB's so things / cachers should be 'looking up'
