This cache is placed in the southern reaches of the beautiful Huon River Vally at Waterloo. It is accessible by road and the views will amaze you.
The Huon River is said to provide the largest body of "safe" inland waters in the southern hemisphere and the waters are a fisherman's delight.
In 1874 Bolton Bird was invited to come from England to the Congregational Church in Davey Street in Hobart. At the end of his three year term he resigned and bought a farm near Geeveston in the Huon district. He named his property WATERLOO, because of the 'battle' he fought there in felling trees, blowing up stumps with explosives, clearing and fencing the land. When his orchard came into bearing he shipped small consignments of apples to England, thus becoming one of the pioneers of the apple export industry that the Huon Valley is known for today.
Cache is a 1 litre Sistema container with a FTF badge, log book, pencil and swaps
