I thought it would be fun to see how many new cache sites I could find near to Mills in my local area. These will include Watermills and Windmills, some still in use, some now used for other purposes. Most mills are sited in nice surroundings, so I hope you will enjoy visiting them. I will be adding new caches to this series over the next few months.
All the micros are hidden right on public footpaths. None of them will be very close to private houses. Some of them are near public highways, but many are along private roadways, with only footpath access. Please park considerately, and do not drive along any private roads to access the caches.
Hedgecourt – The actual mill has gone, but the Mill House is still here. A very knowledgeable local told me that the watermill was here long before the lake, which was built as a reservoir for the wire mill, further downstream.
Mill Lane is a public road, with a car park at the far end of the causeway, or there is room to park a car beside the road, just before the lake.
