Geocache Description:

Located in Coventry, CT the old South Street Cemetery is a treasure. This is being placed on Veterans Day in honor of veterans of all wars.

This cache is a small lock container wrapped in camo tape. It starts out with a few small plastic bugs and critters. There is a FTF trackable prize. Cache can only handle small trades.
This cemetery is also known as the Holy Grove Cemetery. The headstones have a date range of 1740 to 1922.
While looking for this cache, take some time to visit and read the tombstones. After doing this, you might want to also visit the cache at "The Old Cemetery" cache by Jestjuggle. Both places have stones for Revolutionary War veterans - and Silver Street has French Indian War as a bonus.
There is also a letterbox named "Lunette - Jonathan Loomis" on the grounds that you might want to search for where you're here. According to the letterbox description, the term lunette refers to the area at the top of headstones that contains the cherub carving.
There is also a nice little hiking trail system in back of the cemetary.
Please be respectful of the cemetery and surrounding grounds. When we were there, we picked up litter left by previous visitors.
