A steep ascent to a truly excellent view point to a varied outlook. One of our very favourite hills.
Mynydd Troed stands at 1,990 ft. It is a beautiful mountain sat at the western edge of the Black Mountains. With lush green pasture to the west, the views down the valley towards Crickhowell contrast strongly. The long flat ridge from Pen Allt Mawr to Pen Cerrig Calch is a prominent landmark from here.
Gliders can sometimes be seen at very close quarters from the hill top. We especially love the way that cloud shadows race across the surface of the adjacent mountains on a sunny day.
This cache can be done in conjunction with BBC1 either by parking at N51° 56.825 W003° 13.345 or at N51° 57.801 W003° 12.364.
Don't forget to collect the code.
